A while ago I discussed the Pilot Aeronef Type 20 GMT The Wright Brothers 1903Watches: Zenith Pilot Aeronef Type 20 GMT The Wright Brothers 1903 that Zenith unveiled to commemorate the first self-powered flight successfully achieved by the Wright Brothers on December 17th, 1903.

For this watch, the brand managed to create an amazing and very convincing vintage look. The hours and minutes hands as well as the Arabic numerals of the matt black dial have been coated with a muddy beige shade of SuperLuminova that gives the illusion of tarnished radium. Note that each of the numerals is individually finished with this patina-like accents, making each dial unique.

The Pilot Aeronef Type 20 GMT The Wright Brothers 1903 is presented on a gorgeous vintage-styled leather strap that enhances the already imposing size of the watch and sets a fine finishing touch. This sturdy wristband is made from beige suede leather and its lining features a heat-embossed “Zenith Flying Instruments” inscription as well as the brand’s historical logo.

With a sticker price of $8,600, you better hurry if you are interested because the 1,903 pieces that the brand will make are sure to sell like hot cakes!
