It does not mean, however, that the brand has overlooked the watch lovers wishing for a classic and elegant timepiece with a timeless design and a sophisticated movement. If such are your tastes, then the Classic Fusion 8-Day Power Reserve, in titanium or king gold, is the perfect watch for you.
Nicely curved, with a clever mix of polished and brushed surfaces, the 45 mm Classic Fusion case exhibits all the codes of a timeless classic model while, somehow, featuring all the design cues that have made Hublot watches so famous. For this new model, you have the choice of the lightness of titanium or the opulence of King gold.
Inside, beats the new in-house HUB 1601 manually-wound movement that offers an impressive 8-day power reserve. Comprised of 209 components, this sophisticated calibre is only 4.40 mm thick and counts among the flattest in the industry. The beauty of this mechanism can be admired through the sapphire case back of each version.
Both versions feature an understated black dial with a sunray satin finish and simple baton hour markers and hands that are either gold- or rhodium-plated depending on the model. The purity of lines is perfectly respected by an extremely well-balanced layout with the date at 3 o’clock, the small seconds at 6 o’clock and a discreet but extremely legible power reserve indicator spanning from 9 to 11 o’clock.
Thanks to a black alligator strap sewn onto black rubber, both timepieces are elegant and comfortable to wear at the same time. The watches are secured by Hublot’s deployant buckle in black PVD steel or King gold depending on the model.
If you are in the mood for a well-crafted every-day model that respects all the standards of fine watchmaking and will be appropriate in all occasions, this Classic Fusion 8-Day Power Reserve seems like the right choice.
