Watches: Graham London Chronofighter Oversize Black Arrow Collection (+live pics)

For me, the watch world does not exclusively revolve around the most traditional aspects of fine watchmaking. I am equally interested in the timepieces whose raison d’être is more design-oriented.

To give a single example, I can marvel at the beauty and extreme simplicity of the new Venturer collectionFlash News: H. Moser & Cie Venturer Collection introduced by H. Moser & Cie, fully appreciating the craftsmanship and expert finishing of its in-house HM C 327 calibre, but I would not say that I am ready to wear such timepieces hundred percent of the time.

More often than not, I am in the mood for a sportier watch with a design statement as primary purpose. And this is exactly what Graham’s Chronofighter Oversize models bring to the table. Let me be clear though: there is nothing wrong with the self-winding G1747 calibre that animates this collection. It is simply that what makes you want to buy one and wear it is purely aesthetic.

With their very catchy design, the three new models of the Chronofighter Oversize Black Arrow collection will undoubtedly trigger some impulsive buys!

For this new collection, the bold 47 mm stainless steel case received a black PVD coating to put on a stealthier look. Its unique lever used to activate the chronograph function has been crafted in carbon for stiffness and enhanced usability. It also emphasises the technical feel of these masculine timepieces.

The collection then plays on the military theme with three models featuring a camouflage dial in either grey, green or beige tones. All versions showcase black chronograph sub-dials. The hours and minutes hands are also blackened and covered with black SuperLuminova. Only the central chronograph seconds hand picks up the dial colour.

Secured by a black ceramic pin buckle, each model is mounted on a beautiful grey, green or beige rubber strap with a Clou de Paris decoration. All three models look equally great on the wrist and are an excellent choice for a casual yet stylish look during the week end.

There is nothing dull about these Chronofighter Oversize Black Arrow models and the only problem seems to be which one to choose!
