Flash News: Chronoswiss Sirius Lion Edition

This summer, Swiss watch brand Chronoswiss celebrates the opening of the "House of Chronoswiss" in Lucerne after nine months of renovation. This new milestone is more than just the headquarters for the brand: it is a place where visitors will have the opportunity to observe watchmakers at work and to experience a journey through the history of Chronoswiss and of Horology in general. All the watch aficionados won over by this walking round tour will be able to buy the watch of their choice at the built-in boutique.
To properly mark the opening of the "House of Chronoswiss", the brand releases two limited edition timepecess based on their timeless “Sirius” model. Presented in steel or red gold, the new “Sirius Lion Edition” features a 40.00 x 8.55 mm polished case with two fluted circles surrounding the case band and a grooved onion-shaped crown.
These two limited editions are powered by the self-winding C.281 calibre offering 42 hours of power reserve. This three-hand movement with date indication is adorned with perlage on the plates and Côtes de Genève on the bridges. Its skeletonized oscillating weight mounted on ball bearings can be admired through the display back.
What makes these two timepieces really special is of course the dial. Crafted in solid sterling silver, it is covered with a white lacquer and showcases a lion’s head decoration applied in iridescent enamel. The majestic feline is a nod to the city of Lucerne which counts the famous Lion Monument as one of its best-loved landmarks. Coincidentally, the House of Chronoswiss is on “Löwenstrasse” or “Lion Street” making the lion on the dial a double reference. At 4 o’clock, each “Sirius Lion Edition” bears the building number, “16a”, in red and another red inscription above the date window specifies the number of the piece in the limited series.
The Sirius Lion Edition Steel presents blued-steel hour markers and leaf-shaped hands. It is paired with a beautiful dark blue Louisiana crocodile strap. The applied baton hour markers on the Sirius Lion Edition Red Gold match the colour of the case and the leaf-shaped hands are also gold-plated. The brand chose a refined dark brown crocodile strap to complete the look. Both watches are secured by a pin buckle in the same material as the case but folding clasps are available on request.
The Sirius Lion Edition Steel is limited to 100 pieces and just 30 units of the Sirius Lion Edition Red Gold will be produced. They both come with an exclusive packaging which replicates the lion motif. A high-grade steel plaque adds the finishing touch with an engraving of the beast of prey.
