Flash News: Graham 1695 Chronofighter Oversize SuperLight GT Asia

By Thierry Ané on November 26, 2014

From November 13th to 16th, the streets of Macau in China saw hundreds of racing drivers and riders compete in different categories of motor-racing, including single-seaters, touring cars and motorbikes. One of the racing highlights of this weekend was of course the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix, an important part of the GT Asia Series.

As Official Timekeeper of the GT Asia Series, Graham 1695 took advantage of this event held on one of the most demanding circuits in the world to unveil the new Chronofighter Oversize SuperLight GT Asia 2014 timepiece.

The new GT Asia 2014

The model maintains the design codes of last year’s Chronofighter Oversize SuperLight GT Asia 2013 watch and features the same 47 mm case crafted in black carbon nanotube composite with a black ceramic bezel and the iconic chronograph lever made of carbon fibre to extend the technical appeal of the watch while providing some aesthetic contrast.

The watch is still mounted on a structured rubber strap with “Clous de Paris” decoration. This year’s version is white instead of red but remains secured by a black ceramic buckle. The case back of this model water resistant to a depth of 100 meters always features a smoked sapphire crystal with a GT Asia logo transfer that lets you see the self-winding G1747 chronograph movement that animates the watch.

The difference relative to last year’s version is to be found on the dial where a carbon fibre background with white GT Asia logo and orange accents have been used in place of last year's black dial with the same white GT Asia logo and yellow accents. Not a revolution, just an evolution: a small one, though, some might say…
