Watches: Hublot Big Bang Caviar Lady 305 Collection

By Thierry Ané on November 24, 2013

There is always something exciting going on with Hublot’s Miami boutique. Since its opening in September 2010, the brand’s first US store located in the Bal Harbour mall has hosted one red carpet event after another and released more limited editions than any other Hublot boutique in the world!

It all started with the Aero Bang Bal Harbour and the King Power Aero Bang Bal Harbour for the Boutique opening, that, in my opinion, count among the best boutique edition versions so far. It continued in 2012 with another King power model that I love: the King Power Aero Miami 305 which was also available in a Pavé version. And, this year, the Bal Harbour boutique proves that it has not forgotten the ladies and introduces the Big Bang Caviar “Lady 305” collection.

Since its launch in 2011, the Big Bang Caviar Lady collection has been one of the brand’s bestsellers. Directly inspired by the Big Bang Black Caviar, the iconic design of these models draws its inspiration from the famous Big Bang 1 Million Dollars Black Caviar timepiece. With sharp angles as well as cut, bevelled, and polished facets mimicking the baguette-cut diamonds of their luxurious predecessor, these timepieces sport a definitely sleek and very graphic look.

For the Bal Harbour boutique, Hublot has just unveiled a new Big Bang Caviar model nicknamed “Lady 305” in reference to the famous area code. Exclusively sold at the Miami boutique, the watch comes in a limited edition of 10 pieces in red gold and another 25 pieces in steel. The former retails at USD 37,900 while the latter costs USD 16,800.

The 41 mm case features a bezel set with brilliant-cut topazes and hours and minutes hands covered with blue SuperLuminova. The strap of both watches is made of ocean blue alligator sewn on a black rubber base to improve comfort, flexibility and resistance. Similar to the King Power Aero Miami 305 model, the solid case back is engraved with a view of the South Beach skyline and features the famous “305” area code. All the design cues of this watch are doing a good job evoking the sea, sky and sun of South Florida. It has this very nice summery feel that made the appeal of the King Power Costa Smeralda and the Big Bang Costa Smeralda, to name only two.

Inside the watch beats the automatic HUB 1112 calibre with 42 hours of power reserve to display the time with three hands and the date in a window at 3 o’clock.

Christmas is coming: these watches are the perfect gift for your better half! If you live in Miami or if you are there for a holiday, I suggest you stop by at the Bal Harbour boutique. Not only will you see these two terrific “Lady 305” watches but they always have a nice selection of hard-to-find limited editions. Plus the staff is really friendly and eager to help…
