Watches: Bremont Kingsman Special Edition

By Thierry Ané on January 12, 2015

British watchmaker Bremont has just achieved a nice media coup with their new partnership with acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn for his new film Kingsman: The Secret Service. Indeed, the luxury brand developed a series of three special edition watches that will be worn by the main characters of the film and play a key part as integral tools in the secret agents’ line-up.

The “Kingsman Special Edition” models that will be sold exclusively in the brand’s boutiques and on draw their inspiration from the ALT1-WT World Time released in 2012. They share the same multi-purpose 43 x 16 mm case and self-winding BE-54AE calibre. This chronometer-certified chronograph movement also features a 24-hour UTC central hand and a World Time Zone function in addition to the usual time and date indications.

Three “Kingsman” version have been created. The stainless steel model is worn by actor Mark Strong who plays the trainer of the potential super spies in the film. A stealthier black DLC steel rendition finds its way on the wrist of the trainee recruits of the top secret Kingsman organisation and the “Kingsman agents”, the true super spies, all wear the rose gold model with black DLC steel case band.

The two versions with a steel base are mounted on black calfskin leather while the rose gold model boasts a dark brown alligator strap, all featuring contrasting white stitches and secured by a pin buckle in the same material as the case.

To ensure the ruggedness necessary to these agents, all models are water resistant to a depth of 100 meters, despite the presence of the chronograph and sapphire crystal on the back. From there, one can admire the movement’s finish and the moulded and skeletonised oscillating weight.

The stainless steel and rose gold timepieces present a white metal dial while the black DLC steel rendition plays the all-black look. To ensure an excellent visibility in all situations, though, the hands of all three versions have been coated with Super-LumiNova.

This is another nice release for Bremont and I am confident the brand’s aficionados will appreciate these “Kingsman Special Edition” models, their association with the film, and even the brief appearance on screen of Bremont’s co-founder Nick English!
