Watches: Hublot Classic Fusion Aero Chronograph Best Buddies

The volunteers at Best Buddies International create friendship and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and development disabilities. Every year, they organise a walk, run and biking fundraiser to raise the money necessary to keep this charitable program running. This year, Swiss luxury brand Hublot joins Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady to support the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port event. The Nyon-based manufacture decided to help the best way they can: by unveiling a limited edition timepiece and by donating a portion of the proceeds of the sale to the organisation.

The Classic Fusion Aero Best Buddies is a great-looking 45 mm chronograph model from the successful “Classic Fusion” collection that has been entirely crafted in carbon fibre. In addition to extreme robustness and lightweight properties, this innovative material gives an extremely contemporary look to this timekeeper. It is also interesting to note that the design team pushed the “carbon” look to the limit by adding carbon fibre chronograph counters on the otherwise skeleton dial and pairing this watch with a carbon fibre strap sewn onto black rubber with red stitches.

The grey and black shades of this technical material and of the ruthenium-treated movement are elegantly enhanced by the multicolour minute track placed on the flange of the dial. This lively addition is a clear nod to the Best Buddies International colourful logo designed by iconic graffiti artist Keith Haring that has been transferred on the sapphire case back. Technically, this time and date model with chronograph function is powered by the brand’s HUB 1155 calibre. This self-winding skeleton movement offers 42 hours of power reserve and features a beautifully hollowed out date ring.

Hublot will produce 100 units of the Classic Fusion Aero Best Buddies. Choosing to buy one is the best way of getting an exclusive and stunning chronograph model while helping a deserving charity: what better way of treating yourself and have a clear conscience?
