Watches: Hautlence Invictus Chronograph Collection (live pics)

With their TV-shaped 42 x 49 mm case with a thickness of 14 mm, these newcomers are perfectly consistent with the developments of the “Destination” collection made of four clearly identifiable renditions. So much so that one may wonder why an “Invictus 02” and an “Invictus 04” have not been introduced at the same time?
Just like the timepiece developed in partnership with Eric Cantona, the Invictus 01 and Invictus 03 are chronograph watches equipped with a Soprod A10 self-winding movement providing 42 hours of power reserve.
The Invictus 01 plays on the contrast of black DLC titanium and red gold, the latter being used for the bezel, chronograph pushers and crown and the former for the rest of the case. The Invictus 03 on the other hand is entirely crafted in titanium coated with black DLC. Both models are secured by a titanium folding buckle and are water resistant to a depth of 50 meters.
Apart from the unusual shape of the case, the originality of these “Invictus” creations comes from the highly sophisticated multi-layered dial featuring a black opaline centre with open-worked part on the side of the date disc and a beautiful honeycomb grid on the outer chapter. The hour markers and numerals are placed on a sapphire glass to bring additional depth to the ensemble.
On the Invictus 01, they are red gold-coloured just like the circles around the chronograph registers and the small seconds counter. For the Invictus 03, however, the design team decided to use bright orange to break the monochromatic look and bring light to the dial as well as rhodium-coloured chronograph registers. The luxurious Invictus 01 is mounted on a refined black alligator strap with a rubber effect while the sportier Invictus 03 boasts a hornback alligator strap with contrasting orange stitches.
Slowly but surely Hautlence is expanding all their lines to present a comprehensive offer able to appeal to the tastes of each and every watch enthusiast and the new Invictus 01 and Invictus 03 are bound to experience the same success as their “Destination” counterparts.
