Watches: Hublot Classic Fusion Jeans Russia
By Thierry Ané on June 25, 2015
This year, the Burevestnik Group marked the opening of the yachting season with a truly special event: the “Hublot Powerboat Trophy”. This unique nautical festival brought together 24 Sunseeker Yachts for the first competition of this kind organised on the waters of the Moscow River. The Moscow River Imperial Yacht Club chose Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot as official Partner for the first edition of this Power Boat Racing.
Not only were the docks adorned with Hublot flags, but the Nyon-based manufacture also put some amazing timepieces on display during the event and, as usual, created a limited edition for the occasion. The watch in question, namely the Classic Fusion Jeans Russia, is a 45 mm time and date model crafted in titanium with a jeans-style dial and denim sewn onto the rubber strap.
Powered by the self-winding HUB 1112, this self-winding mechanical timepiece is water resistant to a depth of 50 meters and offers 42 hours of energy when fully wound. The time of the day is indicated by three central hands and the date window classically appears at the 3 o’clock position. The watch with a transparent case back is produced in a limited run of just 25 pieces.
Regular readers of Watch Agora know that I am usually a huge fan of Hublot watches and that I rarely miss an opportunity to praise the brand’s creations. However, I have the strange feeling that the design team is a bit out of ideas these days.
The Hublot Classic Fusion Jeans and the Hublot Classic Fusion Jeans Russia: spot the differences!
Indeed, in a recent articleWatches: Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 77th Edition I was complaining about the huge similarities between the Classic Fusion Chronograph Bol d’Or Mirabaud 77th Edition and the model presented the year before for the same event. Well, let me just ask you to have a look at the Classic Fusion Jeans made for Chronopassion in Paris in 2013 and decide for yourself if you find the new Classic Fusion Jeans Russia even remotely original?
