Watches: Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Lady Bovet Only Watch 2015

By Thierry Ané on August 3, 2015

With their reversible case, the timepieces from the Amadeo Fleurier collection are born to showcase Bovet’s technical and artistic skills. And this prestigious Manufacture never fails to present perfectly accomplished models where the most refined decorative techniques are used to enhance the mechanical beauty of the brand’s in-house movements.

The creation of another unique piece for the Only Watch 2015 auction was therefore the perfect occasion to demonstrate once again Bovet’s exceptional know-how while helping the research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This year, for their fourth participation to this high-profile biennal watch auction, Pascal Raffy and his design team have decided to donate a women’s model to support Luc Pettavino’s foundation.

When some participating brands only change the material of the case, the colour of the dial or the stitches of the strap for the timepiece they will auction on November 7th, 2015 in Geneva, the Lady Bovet Only Watch 2015 perfectly highlights how serious this brand is when it comes to customisation and how committed they truly are to this noble cause.

This 39 mm timepiece is crafted in white gold with one row of brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel of one face and two rows of the same gemstones on the iconic lug above the crown placed at 12 o’clock. The case band is also entirely set with white diamonds. The Amadeo convertible system allows you to convert this reversible watch into a pocket watch or even a table clock so that you can use and admire it in all occasions.

Inside this extremely complex frame, the Manufacture placed the manually-wound Virtuoso II calibre. Entirely developed in the brand’s workshops, this refined calibre offers an off-centred display of the time together with a small seconds and a sectorial power reserve on its first face as well as the hours and minutes by central hands on the second face. Despite all these achievements, the highly reliable movement with impeccable finish boasts 7 days of power reserve when fully wound.

For this Only Watch edition, the sub-dial and the bridge around the balance wheel are adorned with pink-hued mother-of-pearl. On the former, it is even enhanced by a magnificent guilloché motif and 12 brilliant-cut diamonds circled in white gold as hour markers. With Côtes de Genève decorations on the bridges, blued screws and perfectly bevelled and polished edges, the open parts of this dial prove that mechanical components can also pertain to the decorative effort, even on a ladies’ watch.

With a full dial, the second face of the Lady Bovet Only Watch 2015 is of course where the artistic skills of the brand’s artisans can be fully expressed. On a pink-hued mother-of-pearl surface, the miniature painter showcased their incredible talent with a universal message of peace and hope: two white doves surrounded by colourful flowers. A pink-coloured alligator strap and a white gold pin buckle complete the aesthetic of what is undoubtedly the most beautiful ladies’ watch of the Only Watch 2015 vintage!
